Sangwar was a young Army Officer when he decided to join the Aviation Royale Khmère. He brilliantly succeeded at the Ecole de Pilotage (Air School Academy) and became pilot at the Fighter Squadron. During the war, Colonel Sangwar de Lopez was assigned as Chief of 2nd Bureau (G2 Intelligence Bureau) at the Khmer Air Force Headquarters.
He was the last survivor of his Class 3, Group A. His departure ends one of KAF history chapters. He will not be forgotten.

ps: In the new Royal Governement of Cambodia, he was General in the Police Department.
